Nomi and Brave was created when Sarah, the owner, realized there were no solar system posters for her daughter. Her son's room is filled with characters exploring the universe, so she thought she would create a journey through Nomi and Brave that would impact the interest of little girls exploring science. Making detours on the road less traveled in life has been JanyRae’s inspiration. After experimenting the past 10 years with watercolor, pastel, charcoal, graphite she has determined that bold rich oil pigment and rough texture represent her painting style.
As a child she spent countless hours imagining and drawing in her room or anywhere she could in her hometown of Mountain Home Idaho. Her father built her a light table, and her mom gave her gallons of paint…most of which went on her everchanging walls and ceiling!
Until this point she was self-taught, now she could put into practice techniques and the science of materials she learned while at Chicago. Jany has now painted over 2000 paintings and has worked over 15,000 hours at her craft.
